Please don't tell me I have to climb a moving ladder to get back on the boat when I go swimming, or diving. Please don’t tell me I need to have an expensive crew to maneuver and operate my 66 foot yacht. And certainly please don't tell me I have to spend allot of money on fuel to be able to run my yacht. Here at Stability Yachts we won't even think to remind you, all of these things before handing out your new yacht you have ordered. Our new Stability 66 Luxury SWATH doesn't have any of these common issues.

On land if the surface you were walking on, rocked like a boat in 3-5 foot seas a yellow tape would be put up, and it would be declared a danger zone! Unfortunately, you can't avoid these conditions on a boat of any size even if you stay on inshore waterways where even large vessels are constantly steering into wakes to avoid violent rocking. Consequently how do you avoid those days when the luxury interior isn't enough to mask your discomfort and your only wish is for super extra-strength motion sickness pills?

The answer can be found in SWATH (Small Water plane Area Twin Hull) technology. This is a mature technology used by the military and for deep-sea research ships. Up to the present moment, it has not been available in a hybrid private yacht. Very simply Stability Yachts hull shape reduces the upward forces on the vessel as the wave passes through. The biggest advantage comes in a beam sea because the technology significantly reduces the vessel's vertical movement and totally eliminates the quick jarring movements. If you are operating in quiet seas and no longer require the SWATH stability you can raise the hulls out of the water by pushing a few buttons. Now you have a wave piercing power catamaran. Yes this vessel totally changes its operating characteristics to fit your needs on existing conditions! You can navigate in less than 2 feet of water and go over crab trap lines without experiencing that tension felt when you think about the inconvenience and cost of fixing the shafts and propellers you are about to destroy. With the jet drives, extremely light weight, and 18 inch shallow draft we were able to install a system on the boat that allows you to pull yourself off if you should go aground. As a result, go ahead drive it right up on the beach and enjoy the shaded beach and water.

The next time you are going on to the roof of your house, place the ladder as vertical as possible, then have someone shake it as your going up, but why stop there, try putting a scuba tank and weight belt on as well. This is the same set of conditions you encounter trying to get back on a boat after swimming or diving. What will be the technological breakthrough that will solve this problem?

It can be certainly answered in one word an elevator. Like our older model Stability 60 Sport SWATH Our elevator extends at the stern from side to side and goes 2 feet below the water so you can float on to it and then be lifted to deck level. An even worse situation arises when boarding from a tender, both boats are moving and the tender is very unstable due to its size. We totally avoid this situation by piloting the tender over the elevator and raising the tender to deck level where you can easily step out.



Why do I have to spend so much money on fuel to run my yacht?

You don’t, you can maneuver our new Stability 66 Luxury SWATH, by yourself. With the included JetMaster Joystick a full-featured control system based on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and proprietary software developed by Ultra Dynamics for their water jet propulsion. Easy and logical to use, even inexperienced boat users look like pros. One-hand closer quarter maneuvering gives total control of your boat. Docking and backing into a slip is simple with same-sense steering, just push the joystick in the direction you wish the boat to move. With their Remote tether control, auto-steer (Autopilot) interface and get-home backup systems, you will not hesitate one second to finally go out on your own.

Why do I have to spend so much money on fuel to run my yacht?

You absolutely don’t have to; the solution is in our Advanced Hull design and our Hybrid Solar-Electric-SWATH Technology system (optional). This technology combines all of today's car manufacturing Hybrid technologies plus the addition of Solar Power. The electric DC motors drive the engine shaft in tandem with the Diesel motors and the solar energy supplies the power to the electric motors and charges the battery banks. Thanks to our sophisticated electronic controllers, and “self-optimization,” diesel-electric systems that can handle varying load requirements very efficiently.

The environmentally friendly Hybrid Solar-Electric-SWATH Technology marks a new chapter in the history of pleasure boat propulsion systems. It not only assures zero emissions and low speed maneuvering in harbors, noiseless drive on inland waters and nature reserves, but also eliminates the need for separate generator units for other onboard equipment. The "zero emissions" electric drive mode allows a speed of 8 mph using solely electric propulsion and switches to the combustion engine with an easy turn of the ignition key. The ingenious propulsion then gets "boosted" by the electric drive and enables quicker acceleration, lowering fuel consumption, improving response and dynamics. These are further irrevocable arguments that Stability Yachts, Steyer Motors and our boat accessories are introducing a serious technological advance.

What all of this means, is that since Stability 66 Luxury SWATH itself is very light, less than 19,000 Lb, unheard of in a yacht this size, it can be moved entirely with 100% Solar Power for free at around 8 mph without the need of having any sails and ropes to deal with, like a sailing yacht does. In the event of rough seas the boat can be lowered in the water in SWATH mode at various increments to maintain stability to fuel economy ratio. This in its self is a breakthrough no other mono hull or multi hull Yacht builder in the world can came close to. Mostly, because if you want to use current solar power technology and electric motors you have to make a 66 ft Yacht extremely light losing stability, feeling like a wine cork in the middle of sea. On the other hand, if you want stability you have to make a 66 ft Yacht very heavy and eventually add a very heavy gyro stabilizer to have the same stability as our Stability yachts 66 Luxury SWATH model. Currently there are no vessels that will adapt themselves to solar power and sea conditions as well.
